Memorial Christian Hospital

As a Christian hospital, we seek to reflect love and compassion in every aspect of care, serving patients and their families with integrity, kindness, and respect. The Malumghat Hospital Project seeks to serve through excellence in medical care, education, and community health as we support dignity and restoration for all.

Memorial Christian Hospital provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient medical services:

Memorial Christian Hospital is open for emergency care 24 hours a day, every day of the year. A full range of staff is ready to serve patients in their time of need, either offering definitive care at MCH or providing treatment and stabilization for transfer to specialty services as required.
Emergencies are treated immediately with assessment and stabilization by a medic. A doctor is always available on-call and is consulted as needed for treatment decisions. Laboratory and x-ray technicians are onsite providing a full range of diagnostic services and blood transfusion day and night. An operating team remains on standby, ready to help patients who need emergency surgery.

Our outpatient clinic is open for non-emergent patients Sunday through Thursday excluding government holidays.

  • New medical patients are seen on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • New patients seeking surgical care are seen on Tuesdays.
  • Club foot clinic is held every Wednesday. Read below for more information
  • Immunization day is the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

MCH has 10 fully functioning operating theatres. MCH also has the capability for advanced surgical procedures like laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries assisted by C-Arm imaging. Surgical care at MCH includes preoperative evaluation as well as skilled post anesthesia care and wound care as indicated.

Memorial Christian Hospital participates in the government Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). Immunizations are given on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Our P.T. department has experience in caring for a wide range of patients and has developed a reputation for quality and compassionate care in Southeastern Bangladesh. From stroke rehabilitation to helping children with cerebral palsy improve mobility, balance, strength, and overall physical function. See the full range of patients we serve below:

  • Cerebral Palsy or other neurological and developmental disabilities. Our PT department focuses on exercises and techniques tailored to each child’s needs promoting independence, reducing discomfort, and helping families thrive.
  • Learning to walk with a prosthetic. In partnership with our Limb and Brace department, PT helps patients learn how to adjust to life with a prosthetic or assistive device. This gives new hope for a life without physical restrictions to many patients.
  • Stroke Rehab--our physical therapy department has seen great success in stroke rehabilitation through patient and consistent care. It is wonderful to see a patient's mobility and independence restored after a traumatic and debilitating injury such as a stroke.
  • Chronic musculoskeletal pain management (sciatica, plantar fasciitis, low back pain). While pain medicine can help temporarily relieve some pain, Our PT department offers a holistic approach including massage, TENS, heat therapies, gentle stretching and mobility exercises. This multi-faceted approach can prevent further injury and restore function in addition to providing longer lasting pain relief.
  • Specialized wound care. We have whirlpool therapy capabilities to provide optimal wound care for selected burn patients. This therapy can be done on an outpatient or inpatient basis depending on the needs of the patient. We also provide wound care for diabetics, limited mobility patients, and trauma victims.

Limb and Brace Division of MCH constructs custom prostheses, crutches, and braces on site. MCH’s physical therapists partner with Limb and Brace, training amputees and helping patients develop mobility and rehabilitation.

Club foot is a congenital condition where one or both of a baby’s feet are turned inward and pointing down preventing the foot from obtaining a normal position. It is very common. Thankfully, there are treatment solutions and the possibilities for correction of this malformation so these children can live normal lives. MCH offers treatment of club foot through serial casting and corrective braces. Patients interested in care for club foot can come to MCH any Wednesday morning for evaluation. Coming soon after birth is highly recommended as it leads to improved outcomes.
